I'm so frustrated. In my dystopia, people who disagree with each other are dehumanized, all under anarchy. For example, during class, someone said that "my dystopia is the USA where Trump is president and people are racist." I tried to explain my opinion that what she is saying is a generalization that is stereotyping and dehumanizing people. Her friend then told me to "stop arguing" when her response was "that's my opinion". Yeah, that's her opinion but is it okay to stereotype and dehumanize people? Nothing would be able to happen, or nothing good would be able to happen if there was anarchy and people were silenced with three words for an opinion that has good intentions. I don't like Trump, but I did like Obama. When people told me "Obama is a bad president" I would say "why?" Then I would listen to their opinion and either change my own or respectfully disagree. What happened today is extremely frustrating, because if you are going to say something provocative like this and then refuse an opposing opinion or fact, what was the point of even making that statement? Just trying to make people mad? Is this what the world has come to? People these days are so blindly swayed by there parents and education it is disgusting. We see political indoctrination even in school when a teacher (not going to name names) said that most Republican states aren't very educated. While this is true, she didn't say the other side about why big cities are democratic. Whenever I disagree with stubborn Republicans, I will be called libtard, scaredy-cat, snowflake, stupid, and dumb. When I disagree with stubborn Democrats, I will be called racist, ignorant, trump-supporter, nazi, and more. My utopia is where there is a one-party political system. This way, the shunning of people on opposing political parties wouldn't be on such a large scale like it is today. Also, many people would disagree on things, but people would be rational and listen to others.
This is politics, okay name calling is how you get elected
